Boards and Wards: A Review for the USMLE, Steps 2 and 3 by Carlos Ayala and Brad Spellberg

In medical literature there are thousands of books. Few days back one our member on Facebook asked us about this book. To be honest we were unfamiliar with this at that time. We provide links of BOARDS & WARDS to that member and download it. After reading this book we came to know that we are ignorant because this is master-piece for quick review of Medicine, Surgery, Peripatetics, Gynae & Obs, Psychiatry. Kpalan Medical Series had published a book "Mater the Boards Step 3" (Links are given in other post) but this one is much more easier. Boards and Wards is just 180 pages books. You have to read text books first then relax and turn this short, concise and to-the point book. We repeat again that once you studied your books for respective subjects then consult Boards and Wards.

We are thankful to our member for giving such a good book info.

100 Cases in General Practice

The aim of the 100 Cases series is to provide a novel learning and revision tool that works by guiding the student through clinical cases, imitating those that students and Foundation Year Doctors are likely to meet in a general practice setting. The cases are written to interest students in clinical problems and to help them develop their skills of clinical reasoning, with each scenario providing details of a patient's medical history and the key findings of a clinical examination, together with initial investigation results data for evaluation.

Key questions then prompt the student to evaluate the patient, and reach a decision regarding their condition and the possible treatment plan; while the answer pages enable the reader to understand the processes a clinician goes through in such situations. The volumes are designed with the student in mind, and include features to aid self-directed learning, clinical thinking and problem-solving.

Core Clinical Cases in General Medicine and Surgery: A Problem-solving Approach

You’ve read your textbook and your course notes. Now you need to apply your knowledge to real life clinical situations.

Core Clinical Cases guides you to think of the patient as a whole, rather than as a sequence of unconnected symptoms. With its practical approach strongly linked to underlying theory, the series integrates your knowledge with the realities of managing clinical problems, and provides a basis for developing problem-solving skills.

The core areas of undergraduate study are covered in a logical sequence of learning activities: each case is followed by a detailed answer, along with a number of OSCE-style questions to help you practise for the exam. Related OSCE counselling style questions and answers also feature at the end of each section.

Key concepts and important information are highlighted, and the reader-friendly layout reflects exactly the type of question you will encounter, making the perfect revision aid for all types of case-based examination.

The comprehensive volume, General Medicine and Surgery, focuses on the following topics:

Diabetes
Endocrinology
Rheumatology
Renal medicine
Cardiology
Care of the Elderly
Respiratory Medicine
Gastrointestinal medicine
General Surgery

The Core Clinical Cases series is absolutely invaluable in the run up to clinical, written or OSCE examinations, and an essential revision aid for all undergraduate medical students at various stages in their clinical training.
